Houston Rockets 2010-2011

The upcoming NBA season is just around the corner and I'm pumped up for my Houston Rockets.  With Yao Ming steadily shaking off the year-long rust caused by his recent foot injury, a rejuvenated supporting cast led by last year's Most Improved Player, Aaron Brooks, and new player acquisitions led by Courtney Lee, the road to the playoffs looks bright.

Kevin Martin is poised to have a breakout season after suffering a wrist injury that hampered his productivity while in Sacramento, which ultimately led to him being traded to the Rockets.  Luis Scola, Shane Battier and Kyle Lowry can always be counted on to provide much needed toughness and hustle.  I am thrilled at the continuing improvement of Jordan Hill.  This guy has lots of potential.  Aaron Brooks will continue to improve his all-around game and will not have to bear much of the scoring load as last season required of him. Brad Miller brings much needed relief for Yao and veteran savvy, which means Chuck Hayes gets to play his natural playing position.  Chase Budinger will benefit from Yao's inside presence and provide added bench scoring with his deadly outside shooting.  Courtney Lee is a welcome addition with his great defensive and offensive skills, which brings consistency when Kevin Martin or Aaron Brooks is on the bench.

So here's hoping that Yao will get back to his pre-injury dominance and for successful team chemistry.  Bring on the Lakers and the Heat....go Rockets!  Go Red Nation!
